Basically, BeoPlay A8 is two speakers connected to each other both connected to a portable device. It is easy to understand. The conic speaker shape gives it freedom in terms of positioning the device. It can easily be placed angled down from the ceiling, in a wall corner or standing on a shelf.

BeoPlay A8 is designed to look almost two-dimensional. The front of the speakers together with the bridge act as two different levels, which emphasises the two-dimensional effect, as they use the empty space as part of the sculptural composition. The way it stands on a shelf underlines its weightless nature. The invisible feet make the rings float a few millimetres above the surface.

The remote should be nothing more than the circular control wheel in the center of BeoPlay A8, but lying on the table, slightly elevated from the surface, it is asking to be grabbed and used. When you hold the remote in your hand, the battery compartment fits neatly between your two fingers enabling you to blindly operate the round wheel.
