Beolab 3

The small powerhouse

In the 1960s Bang & Olufsen produced a small cubic speaker with a driver on all sides. Years later, David had the wish to make a new little powerhouse. A cubic speaker with drivers on all sides that would take advantage of the latest technology and acoustic knowledge, like the newly invented acoustic lens.

BeoLab 3 is a small miracle when it comes to compactness. Inside, it is completely filled with electronics and hardware. This was achieved by an intensive collaboration between us and the engineers at Bang & Olufsen.

BeoLab 3 is a piece of pure functionality. All speaker drivers are visible as well as the acoustic lens at the top. All unwanted physical details are trimmed away like the body of a very fit athlete. Yet all surfaces are treated carefully and even the speaker drivers are specially designed. The result is a beautiful acoustic machine.
